Now operating a full scale entertainment company; her experience has given her the opportunity to work with some of the industry “A” list celebrities; Billy D. Shirley is also the founder of the Renaissance Music Showcase and Workshop; which brought some the music industry top decision makers from multiple major labels; to the city of Detroit, as well having Detroit first Idol search for the showcase, with well over 750+ constants vying for a position to showcase their talent. In attendance were such decision makers as Jimmy Manes – VP of Jive Records, Allen Cole, Regional Director of J Records, Manny Campbell, President of Coastal Records, Sony Music Group, Rap-A- Lot, Verity Records, Telecommunication Companies from Detroit to Toronto, College and National Radio Stations, Entertainment Attorney – Delmar Thomas and multi-platinum producer Chuckie Thompson and many other. The showcase and talent search gained major media coverage, due to the fact that it’s was the first of its kind and to have so many people waiting for hours; up to 12 hours just to showcase for 90 seconds.
